ABOUT THE WORK
Reflected in the work is a sensibility that is both deeply personal to the artist and, at the same time, accesable to the viewer. Ken's work possesses a quality of expression that at first glance yeilds a compelling landscape of sweeping images and patterns which upon deeper reflection reveal a sophisticated interplay of symbol and color. Ken deliberately creates this conflict in his work., at once playing the comfoatable familiarity of images against the tension created by contrasting and disperate colors and patterns. Ken challenges the notion of a moment in time as a snapshot of frozen emotions with a composite of occuring and recurring actions, exploring art as object and art as a window to the soul.
